Sustainable Urban Development: Integrating Smart Technologies and Social Equity
Abstract
As cities grow, the need for sustainable urban development becomes increasingly urgent. This paper investigates how smart technologies, such as IoT and big data analytics, can be integrated with social equity principles to create inclusive and sustainable urban environments. Drawing on examples from Australia and beyond, we explore the role of interdisciplinary collaboration in urban planning, highlighting the importance of engaging stakeholders from diverse fields, including technology, sociology, and environmental science. The findings emphasize the need for holistic approaches that balance technological innovation with social and environmental considerations.
