The Role of Social Determinants in Health Innovation: A Cross-Disciplinary Perspective
Abstract
Health outcomes are profoundly influenced by social determinants such as income, education, and housing. This paper investigates how cross-disciplinary approaches can address these determinants to improve public health. By integrating perspectives from sociology, economics, public health, and urban planning, we explore innovative strategies for reducing health disparities. Examples from Australia highlight successful interventions, such as community health programs and policy reforms. The paper emphasizes the need for collaboration across sectors to create holistic solutions that address the root causes of health inequities.
