Mental Health in the Digital Age: A Cross-Disciplinary Approach to Prevention and Treatment
Abstract
The rise of digital technologies offers new opportunities for addressing mental health challenges, but also raises ethical and practical concerns. This paper explores how interdisciplinary approaches can leverage digital tools, such as AI-driven chatbots, virtual reality therapy, and online support communities, to improve mental health outcomes. Drawing on examples from Australia, we examine the role of collaboration between psychologists, technologists, and policymakers in developing innovative solutions. The paper highlights the importance of balancing technological innovation with ethical considerations and patient privacy.
